At Theresa the talent agent's request, i attended a model call last night at 7pm, and spent two hours strutting around McFadden's in my high heels with a dozen other girls, in front of a handful of designers, and a great model coach, who was there polishing each of us up with feedback as we pranced around a bit ridiculously on the wooden floors. "walk... stop.... model box.... turn ... turn... touch, and.... go!" So as I was leaving, Theresa stopped me to thank me for coming, and i thanked her for the opportunity, and then she shared that the designers chose me to be in the show, and we giggled that they referred to me as "the girl in the glasses". so i will be going to a rehearsal this friday evening, and then i believe the show is on the 17th & 19th. more details to come as i get them. should be interesting. fun. this show is not related to portland fashion week, but they are portland area designers i guess of both clothing and shoe. i'll give more info as i get it.
another designer i met recently asked if i would be her PR person for her "rock n' roll fashion shows", so of course i said i would be happy to.
someone else, a portland-area writer, contacted me about doing voice-overs/recordings of his "epic science fiction novels".
there's other crazy stuff going on, too. i'm really excited.
When I arrived home, my roommate Mitchell was still very awake and ready to go out and celebrate any excuse, so we hopped through a few bars like Gypsy Lounge and Embers and had a blast. i may have been sighted in various parts of West Portland strutting down the streets in my heels and skirt, practicing my model walk with gusto. "and stop... model box... turn.... turn... touch, and.... go!"
There is an event TODAY from 5pm-7pm at The Nines Hotel called "Nine at The Nines" which will feature designers and sneak peaks of the upcoming Portland Fashion Week. gotta rush to that after following up with that J Jill appointment.
[/Doomlaut - "they should be considered armed & fashionable, and approached with caution & dancing."]
