OK, so I worked on another painting mostly during the month of April, and got to a stopping point, unsure what to do further. After procrastinating for a couple of weeks, I've decided to just leave this the way it is, making no further changes, adding no more detail, keeping it in its simplistic state as is.
I call it 'wings heading home'.
Mind you, i still claim zero talent at this whole painting thing i started doing just a few months ago. I've destroyed a few paintbrushes and have progressed very little in my technique and skill, but i'm still enjoying the intentionally haphazard process of it all. this one was done with acrylics, but since my friend Liz bestowed her extra oil paints on me, i'm going to experiment with those soon as well. i hear you can layer oil paint over acrylic paint, so perhaps i'll try that.
and hey, at least this one isn't a TREE!

sorry, its just pouring out of me.
bought acrylic paints today. tested them out with the mini-canvas below.
i found that mixing paints to achieve the perfect color can be very exciting and meditative all at once.
Here's artistic attempt #8:
'Lightning Strike'

Went out tonight with friends, was tired and left, got home and suddenly used a mental energy burst to create some more crappy art.

More fun with oil pastels!
so attempt #4 was supposed to be a bonfire, but when i tried to do the smoke and ground, it got all kinds of f'd up.

Then next (#5) I did this colorful little bird escaping from a cage:

*shrug* something new. when words fail me. a new way to process it all.
