PDX planning

OK, so it would be super helpful if everyone who lives in Portland, Oregon (or nearby surrounding areas) could leave a message here and say hello. Also, if you have some LJ friends who also live in Portland area that you think I'd get along with, I'd love some journal recommendations.

I'm psyched for my relocation. Packing the truck up and leaving July 15. Should arrive in PDX around July 20.

that's great, i appreciate any recommendations, particularly of the creative/musical/writing/journalist variety, as well as activists, lobbyists, Pagans/Wiccans/Buddhists, medical marijuana advocates, etc.

*waves* Tina from PDX here. I don't have any other area LJ friends, sadly. I can imagine how excited (and maybe even nervous!) you are. I relocated here from California last June and never once regretted my choice-even after spending 3 months unemployed! What area of town are you moving to? I'd totally love to give you the unofficial tour of fun and cheap things to do in Portland when you arrive.

I'm a PDX local (although not a native, having relocated here on 3/21/07). I'll be gone 'til late July, but'll be happy to meetcha and show you 'round once I'm back in town again.

I really don't know you (yet), so really don't know who you'd get on with on LJ (yet). Good people in general include: [info]ferociousbcycad

I used to live in Portland.. They are not very nice to Californians. :(

I'm in Portland; I'm not sure who on my FList you'd get along with, though I think you'll find it easy to get involved in Portland.

I did realize, perhaps [info]ladymairwen? She's out in an outlying town, but you can still get there by bus, and she volunteers at the coolest little Friends of the Library bookstore ever. She's also pagan and super nice and friendly.

Hello from Albany OR
Although I am less enlightened, Oregon makes up for my lackluster spiritual sense. I simply love it here. Growing up in a more harsh Midwestern climate allows me to appreciate our mild winters and summers. You will find that if you get the urge for a cool breeze you can be at the coast in no-time, or if snow is your think just drive up to Mt. Hood and hit the glacier in July. Just last week we hiked to a mountain lake and enjoyed a campfire in northwest rain-forest of old growth timber and parked our car in a remaining snowbank from last winters pack.

Some of my Oregon Photos reside here: http://www.panoramio.com/user/1928966

If you need any sight seeing tips, just tweet me.

I can tell you how to get from Stone-Henge to Crater Lake, or from Multnhoma Falls to Silver Falls, and everywhere between.
